To confirm and reiterate what I did…

Bent tabs from lock down washer.

Remove nut from fuel shut off “arm”

Remove “arm” from fuel shut off splined shaft

Rotate shaft so nipple was at 9o’clock position (when looking from “arm” side, or the 3o’clock position when looking directly at the nipple).

Push arm onto the splined shaft at the 6o’clock position

Reinstall lock down washer

Reinstall nut

Bend tabs to lock down nut

Reinstall assembly into truck

This is the video I referenced…

He explains this somewhat between the time of 11:45 and 12:25, and shows the orientation. Although he doesnt explain how they should be if taken apart, but you are able to see how it should be during that time of the video.

Glad you figured it out because too much thinking was making my brain hurt.
So when you had the fuel control unit assembly out you disassembled it?
Yea the correct orientation is in the TM.
