CARC date stamp on door frame?

So, I've been spending time hunting for a reasonable M1078 to purchase. I was looking at one today, and I noticed that it had a CARC date stamp on the driver-side door frame. I assume this is referring to CARC paint, but I was curious about the date. The data plate on the dash showed a delivery date of 1994, but the CARC date is 1996.

Is the CARC date stamp indicating a date that it was re-painted, or is it something else not related to paint?

Thanks,
Michael

I would be highly suspect of data plate swapping. That stamp is applied by Stewart and Stevenson.

I know that truck. The cab paint looks original so the cab was probably replaced at one time. The tag may have been replaced with the cab but this is how the truck came from GP.
