Cargo Cover question

Greetings from NE Orygun.

A few years back I drove my '63 M35A1 on a 400 mile round trip. During the trip the strap hardware on the bow corners wore a hole through the brand new NOS canvas top in at least two places.

Question regarding vinyl cover--when you folks are on the road, do you pull your cargo cover to keep it from wearing through, or does this not happen on the vinyl cover with bungees. Maybe you put padding, like a wrap of old inner tube around the corners to pad the top?

What do you all do?

Thanks--Mark

Did you have the round head bolts in those two places or maybe the cover wasn't on just right or maybe loose. All the bolts would be wearing holes in the canvas or vinyl if this was a common problem. Wayne
