Having had problems starting and running with my m880 i bought a bbd and original cast iron manifold from a 72 challenger with 318,im painting and cleaning at the moment but notice its an early bbd with lift up bowl vent, the only thing things that stump me is it doesnt appear to have a coil spring on throttle shaft to return it to closed position,is that normal ? and although ive got the choke pull down on the manifold i dont know if it needs hooking up to electrics and how?

Not that it means much, But I have never seen a BBD without the return spring.

The carter on my truck does not have any electronics on the choke...
