Does anyone know if there is a check valve between the fuel injector pump and the fuel tank. My truck is difficult to crank when cold , but once running it will crank right up, warm or cold.... no white smoke from exhaust when cranking. I use a little either and fires right up. almost like its loosing its prime?

Have you replaced the rubber fuel lines? They are well known to dry-rot and allow air in(and no fuel out).

It's simple cheap insurance to replace them.

Yes there is. It's the one that looks like it has a ball stuffed in the outside face if it's newer or if old style, has a very thin, 14mm/9/16 hex head in the end of it. Attached is an image of a new style overflow valve.
