Ruppster, yes that will work as you have proven. A good solution for a moderate amount of lights. I am trying to find time to put my lights up and will post pix.

Lights and Motorgeneraor

Here is a photo of the little motorgenerator I am using to power the Christmas lights on my truck. I plug it into the NATO plug and fasten it down in the bed behind the cab. It makes about 350 watts of 115volts and runs the old outdoor style lights fine. I am stringing them up now and fabricating a wreath form for the grill.
