I just would like to get some clarification from some of the guys that have used the Behr exterior flat paint with the primer included on the cure time. I have read many threads saying it takes a long time to cure. I am starting to get nervous about my restoration of my M416 trailer. I sprayed the sides and the rear with a rusty metal primer, let dry, then applied a coat of the behr. 4 days later it will scrape right off with my fingernail. on the front i did not spray the primer and the paint is rock hard, it will not scrape off. will some one tell me i have not screwed up, I am afraid its not going to set up correctly. does it harden up? Am I being to impatient? I would love to hear any input. thanks Lewis

How long did the rusty metal primer dry? Should have been at least 48 hours, 72 to 96 would have been even better. You have an oil based paint under a latex paint and the oil needs to dry out before you add another layer. Another oil based paint would allow the oil to rise to the surface and evaporate (eventually), latex seals it in.
