Hey all,

Just looking for some input from the pros. I am going to tackle touch-up paint work on my truck this fall. As part of this clean up process, I would like to repaint the bumper to properly ID the trucks lineage, as well as adding my own little touch to make it not-so-official-looking.

I have the following information as sent to me via CARNAC

Truck: M35A2C
Unit: HSC 628TH SUPPORT BATTALION
Location: Ft. Indiantown Gap PA

Knowing this, what would the front bumper of the truck read? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As far as the rattlecan over the CARC to obscure the truck's original markings in the first place, just get some acetone or paint thinner and remove the rattlecan atrocity. The original markings are still under there, just waiting to be revealed.

As far as actually recreating original military stencils, I mentioned this IAT where an M105 owner wanted to make authentic-looking recreated markings. There are any number of stencil-type TrueType fonts out there on the web-i-tubes for use under Linux, Windows, or Macs, and any number of vector drawing apps which can use them. Just make something that looks about right, print it out, and hold up the print out to an exemplar of what you want to duplicate. Squeeze, stretch, and tweak it as needed to get it "close enough" and then use that vector drawing file to print out as many stencils as needed to paint all the markings you need.
