Correct Loctation for M37 Large Door Star??

On post WWII vehicles the point of the star faced forward ( as shown in Majors picture )

Bruce here is what mine looked like when we found it and now torn apart with some work done. It was a pretty complete and straight truck with spun bearing when I go it. Very rust-free even under the battery tray. Right now the truck does not have a complete anything on it except for the drivetrain. The engine has been started since rebuild and the entire drive train run/engaged for some time while chasis was supported by jackstands. Runs like a top. Really makes you want to go crazy and complete the whole project but I'm lucky to spend any significant time on it all to get it finished.

There are no specific measurements for location -only "as close to the center [of the door] as possible."

And 16" diameter. The door bridge wieght badge was in effect at least in 1964 when the picture in my avatar was taken.
