Cracked the heads.

Well, it's official. Coolant rises when it's running and flows out, heat goes hot and cold. ****, looks like heads at least, or just as simple to swap in an engine. Transmission seems alright. Engine starts and runs good. Exhaust is clear once warm. Hate to do it, but gonna dump in some seal-it crap to get to work and back, Likely ruin my new radiator and heater core next. All for a defective , under size 5 cent bolt in a 20 dollar freeze plug heater that I put in to be good to the engine. Friggin Katz heater.

The first part sounds like you may have a working thermostat. Not following 5 cent bolt part. How did this crack the heads? Not saying you don't have a coolant problem, but can't figure from post.

Does your temp warning light function?

I had to go back and read it, but no. That was the M1009. This is the M1008 I am now driving. None of those issues this time, thank goodness. I've found a supposedly good, already pulled engine, just need to come up with the $$$ and hope the truck will get me there when the time comes. I'd like to just swap the heads as my mileage on the motor is 40,000 and the other 120,000.
