CUCV 14 bolt question

I was poking around Wikipedia the other day and I noticed that that the 14 bolt's design was actually changed in 1985. Here's the link: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/10.5"_Corporate_14_Bolt_Differential (in the design section). Does that mean any CUCV made after 1985 has the new design installed? Also were the changes that were made to the axle major enough where you would want a post-85 14 bolt?

I would guess no, the CUCV for all years should be the same mechanical parts wise as a 1984 during the 1984 to 1987 year run. However, there are some differences like the 86+ M1009 seat brackets and floor pan compared to the 84 & 85.

All CUCVs use the same pre-1986 14 bolts. And no I have never noticed any difference in strength between the two.

That's what I figured but figured I'd ask. Plus I agree, if you break any 14 bolt you must be doing something wrong haha!
