Background is I did a guy a huge favor and he said he has some leafsprings but thinks they are for a 1008 not a 1009. I won't be meeting back up with him until next week so...

Questions:

Will the leaf springs from a 1008 physcially fit a 1009?

What is the impact to the vehicle handling or safety by swapping?

What about any changes to the ride?

Thanks

Med,

You can take apart the rears, just make sure you use your main spring, top one, and then add as many leafs as you need, just make sure you graduate them.

Now that sounds interesting also.

What is using the 1008 springs going to do to the ride? Make it a harder ride?

Does using the 1008 springs increase the load capability in any way?

Make the ride firmer.

Yes, they're 1 ton truck springs and your K5 has half ton springs. You're basically doubling the rated weight capacity.
