Cucv vs Humvee th400 throttle position switch

Why does the Humvee have a mechanical throttle position system whereas the cucv has vacuum?

Personally I despise vacuum systems.
Anyone ever think of putting the Humvee system onto the cucv?

I have one of those HMMWV kits and I plan on installing it in my M1028. I’ll post some photos when I get back to my computer tomorrow.

Here is the link to the thread on the hand throttle. I haven't yet installed mine, but will post photos when I do. Those things are regularly on Ebay. Not sure if there are any on there now. Search HMMWV throttle and see what pops up.
