Custom Double Front Bumper.

Since I saw a few Deuces at the GA Rally I cant get the idea out of my head about installing a custom opposing over and under front bumper. Here is an example of what I am talking about. I like the extra mounting space achieved for the jerry cans, pull down steps and the possibility's are endless. The 3rd picture is a picture of my109 on the far left. Thats the truck I am looking to customize the front bumper. I am also looking for a bumper for a 71, PM me if you have one to ship out. I cant get this project underway until I get one.

Please post your pictures of your custom Deuce front bumper.

Thanks, Happy Holidays

the bumpers yes, gas cans no, I do not want a gas can where if I need 50' to stop but only have 40' be in the pinch point, also with the can there, there could be a slight problem with offroad

A guy here in town hung his cans on the steel portion of his mud flaps, behinf the duals, under the box, plus one on the running board. I can see the double bumper looking kind of cool, but it will sure turn the end of the frame down with that leverage if you snag it. I like the protected lights between them. Like a lot of modifications, it is your truck, build it the way you want it!

I could see water cans on the front but not fuel . Any kind of accident your looking at a haz-mat spill and most likely fire . The D.O.T. may not like them either.

I had to think about it but now I know.....it looks like Mator with 2 buck teeth:razz:

Anyway I mounted my extra cans on the back

one more thought, if you have to PUSH your way through a event, those cans could be a REAL enlighting idea

I like the front can idea. I was planning on water jerry cans in the front and fuel cans on the rear mud flaps. Here are the 2 water cans I am talking about. The tan plastic will match the truck color. The mounting brackets fit the same as fuel. I got these in Georgia from 3DAngus. Next year I am getting more Dell had some good deals going.2cents

Thanks for the picture, Thats what i am looking for. I already have cans mounted on each door step but you can never have enough fuel. Water is important to.

What about mounting the fuel cans in the bed? You can probably put 200 back there.

I like the idea of the bumper for the fact that it is different, but it looks like you would lose a lot of ground clearance.

Looks cool but the reduced angle of approach would be enough to hang me up crossing the creek after a good storm and the bank washing out.

That is cool looking and functional to,i would add some support bracing from the frame to the bottom of the low bumper, just in case you hit something, it won't flex.

I like the two bumper front but don't like the jerry cans front or back. If someone would rearend you. Must smaller cars (least the nose of the car) go under bed height and in turn smash the jerry cans. Also if you have a blow out and the metal is less than par tire could rip through and hit the jerry can. Just my 2cents.

If you really want to mount the cans up front you could always pull the front bumper foward a bit using frame extensions so that the cans could fit behind the bumper. That way they would have added protection.
