Diode Trio Part Faulty/Bad?

This isn't another Alternator question or where to buy a Diode Trio.

I bought a rebuild kit and found a local alternator/starter repair shop who will clean and rebuild alternator with my kit for $20. The guy has been doing this for 30 years.
I don't question his knowledge or company.

The guy told me that my Diode Trio from my kit wasn't good, and suggested I return it. He said the spot welds aren't right. In the photo you can see the tiny pin head spot welds.

I am no expert on any of this. The part looks fine to me. I am confused by this.

I have tested it out with a voltmeter. Not sure how to test correctly?

Thank You

Alternator testing and repair is covered in the TM 9-2320-289-34, in the"electrical system" section. Including how to test the diode trio.

I don't see any issue with your spot welds. I just installed one that looked identical, in my alternator and it works just fine.

Where did you buy the diode trio from?
