door lock mechanism needed

Lee, the door mechs are easy to fix. I had the same problem with my pass side. It opened fine from inside but would not from the outside handle. After pulling it from the door, it was appairent what was wrong with it. Over years of use the paw that the outside handle uses to push the latch back had become worn and would pass over the striking plate on the latch. The striking plate on the latch has a bent over end that catches against the paw. The fix was to clamp the latch open and put a simple weld tack on the ear of the door paw so that it would not slide under the strike plate. Mine has been working great for 6 months since I put the weld on it. Good luck.
