Seems to me like you could just run it without the flanges. Cover the bearings with a baggie & duct tape.
I remember someone on here just made some covers out of wood too.

CBVET and FMJ thanks for the offer and info . I am looking for a set to keep and get the truck back to GI. I am not planing to put lock outs back on.
