I found what was left of a DUWK hull without truck several years ago near Sutton, West Virginia sitting in the weeds near a bunch of worn out coal trucks. I was looking for B model Macks and found the hull by mistake. Go luck with your finds.
One story I will share from a WWII veteran: A group of dog faces had enough of the war and commandeered a DUWK to drive home literately. They started out and got into Manilla Bay the Philippines where the ocean waves swamped the DUWK and they had to be rescued. I wonder who was in charge of navigation, since I do not believe they had enough gas to get to San Fransisco?? What a short trip! Mark

Eddy here from the Great White North my Duck was not in that bad of shape when I got it but it took a long time and a lot of $ to get it n reasonable shape. It now runs and drives and swims but still needs some brake work and the dash needs to be finished. It took over 100 hrs of welding work and it is still not perfect but nice. I feel bad because I have only had it swimming twice and driven it less than 200 miles. It now sits in the back yd covered in snow as I hide from the winter in AZ. I was offered 50K for it and should have taken it two yrs ago. If you look at the picture its at the far end of the yard. Eddy

Hey out there ! Just left the Sec of State today in Belleville Mi....and have a Titled 1944 DUKW and a Watercraft registration for it !! Woot woot ! let the restoration begin ! Thanks to all the 'Duckies' out there for help and support..The M818 has a leaky fuel shut-off solenoid but parts in hand to fix..thinkin I shoulda chose knitting as a hobby instead..Happy Holiday weekend !
