I have wondered the same thing about the Elvis avatars.

Having spent 8 years in high school and studying neat stuff like habits of fellers and critters and stuff, I feel like I am qualified ta offer an xpert pinion on this subject.

DH has a complex that Doctor Zegmund Fraud would call a multiple personality wannabe complex.

That means he sees himself as a popular feller that made good in life and wants to be like that feller...ergo Elvis the Pelvis.
In reality...DH is a good feller and has done good in life and has stuff, but he ain't so purty so he presents himself as "The King".
