Event number over 10000

Does anyone know if I will have problems trying to license a 5 ton M931 tractor from an auction with an event number over 10000? According to the GL website it looks like they are supposed to be sold as scrap but from the pics the truck looks like it would run with a jump maybe. It's a pretty good looking truck actually.

Looks like a hard time getting a title. no form 97 with purchase

I may be OK in GA, I think they have a rule that vehicles over a certain age don't need a title. I hope that will be the case anyway.

Is demil required? Some scrap comes out that way.

as scrap, is it supposed to be cut up????, thay had some other truck a while ago that sold as scrap that this was required

Still have to have the SF97 to tag it in GA, bill of sale isn't enough. Have tagged 2 A3s, and 2 A2s in GA, always required the SF97. And the ladies at the tag office actually like me!

Nice catch- i think they just ran out of 5000 series event #'s and started at 10k. I am on live chat now asking.

Hmm, as of last week when I tagged another 71' A2 it was required. I tried to take that avenue, and they called the "tag office people" in Atlanta to seek a resolution. Atlanta folks said it was needed to show release from government. YMMV. Maybe you'll have better luck.

The one I am looking at is an 84 model so it looks like it won't need a title according to the GA DMV website.

Ok, just talked to Heidi on live chat, she said those events are eligble for SF-97 unless the lot details state otherwise. Looks like GL ran out of 5000 series event #'s and went to 10k numbers without updating the policies on the website.

I have bought CUCVs as scrap in residue sales no cutting them up and no SF-97s in my case.
