Extra lights above turn signals on M931

[M35A2 KAISER]

Can anyone shed some light on these extra lights above the front turn signals on this truck?

they are called "lolly pops" or "lollipop". Saturn Surplus has them for under $15 ea.

Just ordered some from saturn earlier this week, along with the double connectors. Should be waiting on me when I get home today.

What is the purpose for them?

I think they are common to the trucks that served in Europe, extra turn signals. But I could be wrong.

One of my M813s served in Germany in the 90's. It was equipped with the extra lollipop turn signals. However the front of the lens were painted over w/ OD green and the light operation was only visable from a passing vehicle in the trucks blind spot.

Kind of like your euro cars with the turn signals mounted on the sides of the front fenders.
