Midwest is awfully proud of a lot of their parts. Anyway…

The valve in question, Nitra Valve AVP-31C1-24D 24VDC NSMP, is available of EBay but the cheapest I seen it now is $55/shipped, new open box. There’s some listings for New for about $43, but about $13 to ship. I found a new 1-off from a seller that was $40/shipped.

I would have bought this no matter what, but I believe mine is not functioning properly. I can hear it click/pwr on, but pwr off I hear another click but no purge.

This seller has a good price, but out of stock. The resupply date doesn’t seem too bad, but it’s pushed back a couple days since I checked it earlier this week.

Midwest copied the kit I made after Ronmar & I were buying different solenoids & trying them. After I made the video on my YouTube & shared all the parts, they copied it & offered it at the big price. I put together a similar kit with instructions & stuff for nowhere near the cost so if people didn't want to order stuff they didn't need from Automation Direct, they could just spend a few extra bucks with me.

Right now their ”kit” is on eBay for $417.89. Seriously. It does come with the plug though. 🙄

At this point they are just scalpers taking advantage of n00b's to the military truck hobby. No one that has done even a little homework would give them a dime. Even if they had a "good deal" on something I wouldn't give them the pleasure of a sale. We don't need businesses like this in the hobby.

That is why I put the one I have together for only a little more than what it would cost you to buy stuff you won't need from the vendor. Bigger places always up-charge moor due to their overhead. Like Grainger for the ease of having a large business able to deal with one place. Their prices are YIKES.

You don't HAVE to run a business that way. That's a choice to put profit over your customers. There's an old saying - "you can sheer a sheep many times but you can skin it only once." - they choose to not invest in repeat business. They get people on the promise of a "refurbished" truck and I've seen what they consider "refurbished". They know damn well that most of these sales will be one and done and they will never see that guy again. This works because SOOOOO many guys get this idea in their head that THEY are John Wayne and are going to saddle this horse.... Only to find that deep down inside they are actually the stapler guy from Office Space and can't hack it in this man's Army. So MME has a constant stream of victims.....

I agree. I try very hard to make enough to make it worth it for me and those buying & always help those who support me. This type of stuff is more of a community than a business. You earn business by being a good member of the community rather than simply having what someone needs. This should be any business model. It's a reason why I turn down work at times, I simply can't do it.
