I'm down to final assembly on the 5th wheel project.

Here is a comparison of the original and my (should I say temporary) solution using the set from an M52A2. The problem was the approach ramps, they are shorter and lower than the 757 set.

My only concern is the is the weld vs bolt connection.
The basic philosophy, of course, is to avoid drilling the flange of the frame.

One day I hope to find the right set of spacers and the correct approach ramps.

Guess I'm looking for comments on the weld vs bolt connections. Thanks.

All hardware is 5/8" grade 8 and the bolts from the spacer to the 5th wheel are alloy steel flat head socket screws.
