I know its not a humvee (and that I'll get blasted) but i figured it basicly the same engine.. i pulled a m1009 blazer out of a field that had been sitting for 10+ years.. I had it primed, but WOULD NOT FIRE!! so while my brother was cranking the engine (throttle wide open), i used a VERY SMALL shot of starting fluid and it fired right up... it has started perfect every time since.. my guess is that the starter wouldn't spin the engine fast enought to fully prime the old 6.2
just a thought for you.

I had a hmmwv a few years back that we did the same thing with. One small tiny shot of starting fluid and started right up. No problems after that. It's your truck starting fluid can be bad for these engines so proceed with caution.

Do you even get fuel out of the Cracked injector line? Make sure you have 24v at the fuel cutoff solenoid, it's located on the top of the pump, there are 2 connectors....the one on the cover is the cold advance, the one on the pump
is the fuel solenoid...no voltage, no fuel....

while I doubt it's a fuel pump, I would pull the fuel line on these inlet of the fuel filter....crank, you should get a lot of fuel real quick...use a helper with a Jar.

your pump is either a 4523,4524 which is for 1985-1989 or a 4579 which is 1990 and above.
if it's a pump, it's cheaper to find an NOS one on these Boards...
the 4579 also uses different inj lines and injectors....you can make the old lines work, but you have to bend them.

I think i'm gonna cry !!

New KDS smart start with controller, Ground harness, new glow plugs and new batteries.. It still wont start !!

I guess IP pump maybe ?

I have fuel squirting out of filter housing exit when I turn it over, but no fuel if I loosen the hard line at the head and spin it over..

sorry, I just saw this....and as Ted said....

your IJ pump is bad...or clogged. Yank it.....also take your injectors and get them pop tested...or get new ones if you are going to do a new pump. The pump model is on the left side of the pump...use a flash light.

The pump will work...its possible the motor was replaced....you really need to know what injecotors you have....for that pump its the short bodied injector. But i have had pumps do what your is doing. Send it out or post in the wanted section over on g503.

These injector pumps have a habit of the fuel plungers and inside the pump sticking if they sit for a long period of time, could use just a good cleaning.

Another thing to check is to pull the timing cover off the pump and see if good clean fuel runs out. If little pieces of rubber come out in the fuel, it's time for a rebuild because your governor weight retainer has come apart (another common problem).

There's really not a whole lot that can go wrong with these IPs other than the conditions listed above (besides the rotor and head just being completely worn out). I've be into DB2 pumps myself before and they're not that complicated if you want to try and jump in yourself, just make sure you've got a good manual to walk you through it.

I always use the Delphi, as that is what's out on eBay a lot as surplus NOS....200 for 8 is pretty good.
give them a try....most important is thread pitch....fine or course. The part listed is the Body...the tips are what diff as well.
notice the BAR....I always call diamond diesel and run it by them.
