If the NHC-250 is shutdown by the Emergency Shut off switch, what's the trick to get restarting it? The pressure gage on the left of the steering wheel reads 0. The fuel primer pump doesn't seem to do much, should that feel like the pressure pump on a Coleman camping lantern?

Think you have to push the cable ahead at the injector pump.

Welcome you have to reset the emergency shut-off at the injector pump . Do you have TM's for it? they are free to download right here on SS .
5-ton and up TMs

You should read the -10 series TM before operating any MV. Since you didn't say witch 5 ton this is a guess but it should be one of these ; TM9-2320-211-10.pdf

I agree, I'm learning and don't plan to operate the MV till I learn what I need to. The 813 is in the yard and will stay there for a while while it is cleaned up and worked on. Sorry for the confusion

This would be a great time to crack open the TM's and get better aquainted with your 5 Ton Truck. Don't wait until something happens, be prepared with knowledge by reading the TM's.
