Hey y'all, we're driving in a Veterans Day Parade and putting some State Fair Royalty in the back.
Wanting to know the most appropriate and respectful way to display my flags to honor all those that have served, both in the parade and in general.

Side note: I had someone call the number on the side of the truck a month ago to b!@tch me out about my flags being "rolled up". (Probably the guy that was flipping me off for going slow). See pics. I roll them up bc they'll tear off in the wind. Apparently I'm "UN-American and disrespecting service members" by doing this. The guy was a wacko but I was not in the color guard so wanted to check on the proper TM method.

In the details in the link below - The flags should be stowed, not furled.

As stated above, a/the US flag should be on the right front corner.
That said, in a parade, for safety, I don't want a large flag way out front blocking my view, so I put a smallish US flag on the front right, and the big flag is on a wooden dowel (bought at the hardware store) and attached to my passenger mirror frame with zip-ties on the big trucks.
On CUCVs, the big flag is on a shortened radio antenna, with a smaller flag attached to the grill guard..

When the parade is over, I remove the flags, roll them carefully and put them in a sleeve to protect them.

The US flag should always be higher than any other flag or other emblems displayed on the vehicle. If I'm flying a Texas or Marine flag on the truck at the same time, it is always somewhat lower.

I'm a 'damn foreigner' too, came to the US when I was 14 (legally with papers!). I earned my US citizenship in the Marine Corps. People chuckle because my neighbour (USAF retired) is also a 'damn foreigner', but he and I are two of the biggest flag wavers around. It's because both of us worked hard to earn that flag, and it means a great deal to us.

Cheers

What about multiple flags? Or is that a no-no?

Multiple of the same (USA) or different? Personally, I think a correctly placed, single US flag looks more poinient/respectful, more than one look like a carnival float, not a military vehicle. If you are doing an all services display of flags, as mentioned before, the US flag "should" be the highest.
..... but as with all the "your truck - your choise" comments in all the modification posts, you 'may' only offend people that know better - most don't know the flag code exists let alone it's stipulations.

You asked for 'our' opinions - take em or leave em!!!!!

Same USA flags. But The single flag on the front right corner makes more sense to me as I can attach to the mirror frame and not be in the way for driving.
