I somewhat shorted my turning signal when I was trying to add two more 7" LED brake/turn signal lights. After the short, the old flasher would on on the other side of the turn signal. So I change to a new flashers and now, the brake and turn lights go on but doesnt flash. Is is possible that the new flasher is defected?

Possible, but likely a ground error or connection.

I have had contacts in the turn signal switch get burned seemingly easily, then no contact. You can take them apart and check them.
