I was wondering what these hubs were used for. I figured maybe for lifting or possibly an earlier model year. Any clarification would be great. They stick out farther than my other trucks. (pictures show the 2 different types)

IIRC Pic #1 is used for securing the Deuce while being transported via trailer.

I thought that Pic #2 was a standard hub cap for the 2 1/2 ton. My Deuce has the hubs pictured in #2.

Those are part of a lifting kit used on the water purification trucks. The only mention you will find of these in a TM are in the WP body TM. Odds are great that your truck was an M44 or M45 chassis truck.

I appreciate the info. There are also 2 large lifting rings welded to the front bumper. They stick up about 6 inches higher than the bumper, maybe for the same application.

Do a search here on SS for the word "paperclip" and you will probably find out about those lift rings.
