I removed my pump on my m35a2 and found it was spinning, but had lost the screen plate bottom, and the 3 spacer plates. I reassembled it and tested it, but it still wont pump! Any suggestions?

Did you wire it so it would stay together ? It might have fallen back apart . Is it assembled correctly ? You might want to test it while it's out .

I assembled it with the three aluminum plates in order, bent the bottom screen plate so it wont come apart, put it together nice and snug, bench tested it and it ran like hell, put it in a bucket of fuel and it will not prime up or pump squat. is there anything missing down below other than the spacers (3) and the bottom screen that is not allowing it to prime? there is a gap at the top of the impellors where fuel can pass through from the upper housing screens, I figured that was normal, all blades line up and fit to the offset housing very nicelly. Any ideas?

I would assume that you put the spacers in the right way? I can't remember if it is possible to put them in backwards.... but here is a couple of pics of when I found my screen and spacers in the bottom of the tank.... I correct myself.. Actually the yahoo that riveted the screen on, never put the spacers back, seizing the impeller to the bottom of the screen and assumed that it didn't need anything else, and never checked to see if it pumped... Thus my pump didn't work and kept blowing fuses! I found said spacers and riveted it back together and works until I drive around a while and blows another fuse! Do a search and you'll see a couple of ways to hold the screen on there!

The spacers can really only go in one way, as the pump was designed, very simply! I crimped the edges and made the bottom pick up screen fit tight. The pump runs like hell, fast as lightening, no fuse issues. just wont send any volume up to the main feed line. Is there any rubber gaskets or anything am missing that I am not finding in the tank? I am a mechanic by trade an this is aggravating!

its spinning correctly, but obviously its loosing the pressure via some sort of leak! Is there any seals bushings gaskets or anything in that pick up area that I could be missing. All I have is an impellor, 3 shims, the end cap with a welded on strainer!
