I ordered a replacement gear position indicator since mine was broken.
Where does the little cable attach to the steering column? Mine was missing the cable.
Do I have to disassemble the column to install the new indicator?

hi, first you have to remove the gauge bezel. then theres 2 8mm screws that hold the indicator assembly on. remove the old indicator and bolt the new one on. a little silicone lube will go a long way where the orange piece rides.then pull the black grommet up that on the steering shaft. the cable has a square clip this clips the the column itself. pull the cable until the orange needle is on park then push the clip on the column to the passenger side. hope this helps

Try the junk yards. They like to sell the cluster as one piece but you might get lucky and find one that is missing some stuff and just get the indicator.

I got the whole instrument cluster for spare parts.
