Hello i hook up gear reduction starter its been months since the old one came off anyways every thing is bolted down . i go to bolt down gear reduction starter bracket and notice there is a gap behind bracket and engine block. I go to the TM and see there is a small heat shield that is suppose to go behind that bracket. I can not find the bracket and i am not sure if the old one had one on or not i dont remember taking it off. Is it ok to start it and run without that lil shield? i tugged on bracket and its snug. just dont wanna screw anything up when i go to crank over and have to go through entire process again. any feedback and or suggestions welcome. Thank You

You should be fine, but I would look for one.To be honest with you I didn't know there was a support bracket for starter for about 20k miles. Evil DR PorkChop has NOS stock heat shields listed in classifieds.
