Russ now has these hubs available They are full billet chromoly. They are offered with a bronze bushing inside or a ball bearing for those that do a lot of extended driving. The bushing style are $2100 and the the bearing style are $2500. these hubs are compatible with all 800 series and all 900 series A1 and A2 trucks. If you have ctis be sure to let him know so he can machine the hub body to accept the ctis hardware. The prototype has an aluminum dial but the production hubs have a brass dial. He can reached at 1-269-278-6945 or you can go to his website at www.gearharteng.com

Just so everybody knows, the 939 has the front axle air shift so these hubs WILL work as intended, installing these hubs on a 39 or 809 series 5t, they WILL NOT work as intended because these trucks have a sprag (over running clutch) transfer case that engages the front axle if the rears have 8% slip, if the hubs are installed and locked out, the transfer "thinks" the rears are spinning so will engage the front axle, this will drive the third member, just not the wheels because on the locked out hubs, the ONLY way around this issue is to install a air switch (same air valve that the 939s and the air shift deuce have )to cut the air supply to the transmission air poppet valves, this will allow the sprag to center itself, there by acting like it goes into neutral. This air switch air interrupt is a MWO for these trucks, some of the 39/809 series had the MWO applied, some did not (most did not).

So before someone drops a ton of $$$ on these hubs, MAKE SURE your truck CAN use them OR be ready to do the MWO

As a side note, it would be a SMART idea for everybody that owns a 39/809 series to do the MWO. By doing the MWO the need to worry about rolling against the opposite gear (trans in forward and rolling the truck backwards or vicea verser )WILL be ELIMINATED.

Not to hi jack the thread but interested in the MWO you described. Would like to modify my 813. Is there a document available with instructions and parts required listing. MWO number available?
Thanks

He hasn't put any on a truck but not much need to test them he makes parts that are being run on trucks with 5ton axles putting out 2600hp and 68" tall tires with 5" of cleat on them. his stuff works and he knows what he's doing and has been doing it for other people since the early 90's. He's not far from you he's over in Three Rivers MI you can stop in his shop any time to see them or talk to him about them.

I think his product market is not really here on SS.

Most guys don't even pay as much for their trucks, as his hub price.

His main customers are monstertruck and mud truck guys but I'm sure there will be some MV guys buy some too eventually. There are a few guys that don't mind spending money. Just because you can get the trucks for a goo deal right now doesn't mean they will always be cheap. once they are all through the auctions the prices are gonna go up we already saw this when govliquidation was shut down selling them, prices shot up how many individuals do you see selling trucks for anywhere near 2 to 3k? it's all personal preference. since the good deals on trucks are plenty that leaves more money toward the hubs. ;)
