"Anyone know the correct name/part number for this?

Also, I noticed in the wiring diagram Warthog posted that it shows a "supressor" between the Pos and Neg Distribution Rails. A while back I found a broken up, burnt-looking bit of wire and plastic wrapped in electrical tape there and removed it, thinking it was the previous owners hacked-up, failed attempt at something. I'm now thinking it was factory.

Anyone know the purpose of this piece and whether or not it is critical?
The Diode trio can be bought at many places. Here is one location.

High Output Alternators - Alternator & Starter Repair Kits - Alternator Parts - DIODE TRIO

The suppressor that you found between the 24v Positive Terminal and the Negative terminal is a factory installation. It is used for the 24v Military Radios to help stop electrical noise. It is not required unless you have the radio pack installed.

I had my batteries load tested, they're both good. I tightened the belts and I'm still getting the GEN 2 flicker and my volt meter stays right between yellow and green at idle. When I give it a little throttle, it creeps into green, but never hits the "GEN" mark.

With this Diode Triode deal, both of my alternators are new rebuilds from a reputable shop that knows CUCV's. Wouldn't they replace this Diode when they rebuild, or am I just confused? Is this something I can replace myself, and where is it located?

Also, I always thought that GEN 1 was Driver's side, GEN 2 Passenger's, but I pulled the wiring harness of each separately, and I was wrong. Gen 2 is Driver's side, GEN 1 is passenger's. Is this correct?

Even though your alternators have been rebult, the parts are made in China. Sometimes the parts are bad from the factory or break soon after.

The instructions for rebuilding the alternator is in the TM 9-2320-289-34 technical manual. The diode is inside the housing. Very easy to remove, test and replace.

GEN1 is on the drivers side and charges the front battery
GEN2 is on the passenger side and charges the rear battery. (sometimes both under ideal conditions)
