The printed circuit board paper on the dash cluster tends to burn up. If yours is and If you are real good with a soldering iron you can fix it with a strand of phone wire.

Hmm well the the volt meter works fine. Cranks fine. Maybe I should just leave it alone. I was thinking on putting in some LEDs. Ill vinegar the circuit card maybe it's just a bad light connection. I know LEDs won't work on the gen lights but what I did do was purple power and red scotch brute the light covers and then shot a light coat of poly on them. I then had another gauge cluster that had full plastic coverage. Huge difference in just making it look newer and cleaner.

Being a newish member with a very low post count, please watch you language. No need for the colorful abbreviations.

The contacts on the circuit board need to be clean and tight. Also the wiring harness plug needs to be fully seated. Maybe your GEN2 hasn't been working and you didn't know it and you have now found out that it really isn't working.

Why not test the alternator?
