Is cavitation an issue with the 6.2 like it was with the Ford 6.9 and especially the 7.3? I remember hearing of a lot of 7.3's that became victim of it but I have never heard of a GM 6.2 having this problem

Never heard of it in a 6.2 either. I had a 1994 F250 and drove it 174K miles and it was like new. I sold it to a friend and in 6 months the A4OD transmission went out and the engine cavatated. I used the Ford additive in it and changed the antifreeze every 2 years. My friend was the one that told me about all these problems but he still wanted the truck. It was a Calypso green F250 XLT non turbo 7.3 extended cab with an 8 ft bed. It was the best Ford I ever owned. It was a very nice truck an looked good.

I also had a 91 F250 XLT extended cab 8 ft with the 7.3 and auto. Very good truck with a ton of miles, I wish I hadn't sold it. That twin I-beam front end was something else. If it had been 4x4 I probably would have kept it

Mine was 4X4 but Diesel fuel was at $4. a gallon and one day I was at work and my fuel tank was leaking. It was the front one. I ordered a new Ford fuel tank and went to put it on. The fuel lines were the snap fit type and the fuel line broke off. I went to remove the fuel harness and it ran to the rear tank. I had to remove the bed and that was a joy also. I went to remove the fuel harness from the rear tank and the sending unit fitting broke off and the fuel tank was rusted thru. I was fit to be tied and covered in undercoating and diesel fuel. I got out from under the truck walked up to the house and undressed as I was walking up to the house. I threw my clothes in the trash can went in the house and cleaned myself up in the basement took a good hot shower and went and ask my wife to take me to the Chevy dealer. I bought a brand new truck and left that Ford sit about 2 months till i was calm and cool again. I went about fixing it and made it good as new. I drove it about 2 weeks and word of mouth told people I wanted to sell it. I put new door hinges on the cab doors and got it state inspected. My friend offered me 41K less then i was asking for it and I sold it to him. That ended that. I was glad it was gone as i really like having new trucks every 5 years since that episode. Live and learn. I will never keep a new truck that long again.
