Is there any reason why the gen 1 bulb socket is gray? Or do I even have it in the right place ? Couldn't find anything in the Tms about it.

Black or gray, doesn't matter. Different manufacturers.
The GEN2 bulb should be a 3watt 194 and the others a 5watt 168. The reason being is that the GEN2 circuit is 24v and the 5watt bulb will melt the housing.

Can they all be 194 bulbs?? Hope so I pieced together a instrument cluster and put 194s in all of them.
