GTB (G-622) with G8T Engine, Compression question

All,

I just bought a 1942 GTB. It runs and drives but lacks power going up hills even in 4X4 low. I did a compression test and got 45 psi in three cyl (1. 3 & 4), and 75 psi in the other three. It has an after market electric fuel pump with no regulator or gauge. I do not have the manuals. I assume this is very low compression? Could I be getting too much fuel? I'm new to SS and I'm looking for all the advice I can get on restoration.

The 226 was never a hotrod engine, but all compression readings should be within 10 psi of each other. Time for overhaul.

Time for "this thread is worthless without pictures" of your truck smilies. I like the GTB...they're so ugly, they're beautiful.
