hard starting

hey guys about a week ago my 86 m1009 started hard i had to cycle the glow plugs like 3 or 4 times and when i stop at a stop light it seams like it wants to die but it stays running barely

Maybe try a fuel filter would be where I started on mine and look for any vacuum leaks. Also may need to test your glow plugs and see if any are burnt out. If they are replace them all!

i just put in a new fuel filter so ill try the glow plugs and vacuum hoses

if the problem started after you installed the fuel filter I think you found your area of issue. did you bleed out the fillter correct? have no bad/leaking fuel lines? The rubber ones are 20+ years old and if you have not changed them it might be a good idea.
Glow plugs will cause a hard start but not a low or rough idle.

i put the fuel filter on about a month ago and it ran great till about a week ago
