We have an m998 We are using for a work/marketing truck. I am considering pulling the front driveshaft to increase mpg and decrease the turning radius. Has anyone done this. Anyone know the power split on the tranfercase? We don't want to damage the truck. Thanks again.

I doubt it would help much since you don't have the ability to unlock the hubs. These trucks are AWD, not 4WD so removing the front shaft will cause it to not move unless you lock the transfer case. I think its also been mentioned that it was never meant to be run with the rear diff only and doing it for prolonged periods could damage the rear/blow a half shaft.

I have run them that way as a young private we had a 3rd shop that wanted the front drivelines removed befor we submitted them for work. remove the front driveshaft and lock the transfer case the steer like a 2 wd truck I don't think you will pick up much on fuel milage and the wear in the front tires will be about the same because of scrubbing caused by alignment paramaters intended to make the steering wheel to return to straight. traction tires hate steering axles.
