Heater Core Bypass

Hey Guys,

I am working on a M1009 that has obviously had the heater core bypassed at some point. I have two main questions.

1.) On a stock truck, I know one of the hoses attaches at the crossover, but where does the other one attach? The water pump? That is the only other plug I see.

2.) Is it okay to leave these ports plugged? I know on some vehicles flow between the heater hose ports is important.

#1 radiator on the passenger side.

#2 I used it as a mech temp gauge.

Also, if the core is bypassed, you can probably bet the core leaks.
