I joined the forum some time ago and have been looking for a project, read just about every post on Chevy 1 1/2 ton WW2 trucks, and found one close by me. well this afternoon I had it towed home. the ID is 14NF20XXXX, I can't find any info on the code NF, a brass plate up by the mirror says it's a Truck, Field Lighting, J 3. The original bed was replaced with a home made dump on top of a flat bed, with PTO lift. The rear frame looks to be shortened just after the spring mounts. other date codes are 4-42 on the glass, and 4-42 and 7-42 for both front wheels. I'll post photos soon. Looking to share info and photos. Angels Camp, Ca. Ernie.
