I to just installed the #34787 monroe's on the front axle and they were a tad long when fully compressed to get in the holes by about a 1/4". I put a jack on a piece of wood across two jackstands and jacked the front bumper about 1" and it had plenty of room. Then just put them in and snugged her up...took less than 30min. takes 5/8" wrenches to remove old shocks and a 3/4" to install the new ones.....

Just FYI have a nut spliter or a dremel cut off tool available incase you have a bent shank on old shocks or damaged threads....ask how I found this out??...the hard way...shanks on the shocks were corroded pretty good too...

Oh....just forgot to add that I really like the ride of these....I mean it is alot better than the ride on the old ones...paid $38 each for them on Amazon and got free shipping. Ordered on Tues. and got them on Thurs.

Took on a road test of about 50-65miles round trip and she rode good....although I was riding on a South Carolina interstate for most of the trip and that made the trip rough anyway.... SC roads suck!!!

Hey K. There was a Guy in the Classifieds selling exact replacement shocks for you springer seat. I bought one from him a few weeks ago. He had four left when I bought mine.
