568 was a left over from the 60A alt days and should have been plugged (capped) off and tied back to the harness.

Agreed. Unfortunately, the last army goober who worked on it, jacked it up. It may have been done on purpose, so they could turn it in for a new truck. In any case, it wasn't a quick find. I just decided to check wiring while I was disconnecting items to see what might be causing the issue. It took some digging. I was losing my patience last week, until Cam at Camotek stepped up and helped me focus.
