Hmmwv temperature sending unit

A buddy of mine has a M998 and he put one of the new temperature gauges in that has the colors along with numbers. He ordered a new sender from Kascar. The new sender has one connection but the one currently in the block has two wires run to it. This is the first sender that I have seen with two wires to it. Anyone run into this?

The cold advance switch on right rear of block has two wires.
the thermostatic fan switch on the water crossover pipe has two wires.
The sensor (front left of block) that sends a signal to the temp gauge has no wires on it. It gets one plugged into it.

What is the part number of the one that came from Kascar?
