Hello friends.
I am an Italian enthusiast and, after many sacrifices, I managed to buy a MB Willys. After a long (even too much) phase of restoration, soon I will have to try myself in painting stars and markings. I have already decided what kind of Division to paint on the front and rear bumpers.
If possible, I would like some help on what is a correct hood number to paint on the engine hood.
I managed to know the chassis number of the vehicle which should be 605451 and the construction period should be between the end of March and the beginning of April 1945.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will give me some help or advice.

Andrea.

Welcome! Ciao!

Did you try searching in the G503 database:

G503 Serial Number Database

I tried to find your chassis number but had no luck. To attempt to estimate your hood number, you can use the database like this:

Find database entries with correct USA numbers that are earlier and later than your date of delivery and interpolate to find an appropriate USA number. I say "correct" numbers because lots of people have "created" numbers over the years which are inaccurate.

Good luck with finishing your restoration!

Hello dear friend.
First of all, thank you very much for your proposal. Yes, I would like to receive more information on the specifications for the markings of jeep, especially for the U.S. Army.
So far I have been able to collect a lot of information on this subject but I have not yet been able to have great certainty. Unfortunately all the documents of my vehicle have been lost with time and I also discovered that the chassis number has been modified by the Italian authorities in the post-war period. For now I only know that my vehicle should (unfortunately also this is not certain.......) have been produced/delivered around the end of March 1945.
