Hey everybody, long time lurker here, i've read all I can on the subject, but still feel quite new to the subject.

Quick note about me; I'm a former Marine, 23yo, and grew up working on big rigs and farm equipment in the family business, so diesels and heavy equipment arent foreign territory to me.

I found a clean M35A2 and my Uncle(vietnam vet) and I went and checked it out a few weeks ago, everything seems in working order and the seller very genuine. I finally got my money together and hope to go pick it up tonight.

First issue is the battery box is shot to ****, so I'll have to rig it up to work for the 45min drive back home. I'll fill it with clean #2 diesel at the first stop I see and head back!

Anybody here willing to be an Emergency POC that I can call when SHTF? (just for the drive back). I'm taking a competent mechanic friend as co-pilot, but just in case...

Thanks and I look forward to contributing more to the community!

I only mean as a phone poc for tech support if something happens. I have plenty of locals, but no deuce experts...

Well I got her home! Only issue is a tire that doesnt hold air, otherwise she cruised right along at a blazing 40-45mph most the time. It had some ancient diesel in it, so I put 60$ of fresh #2 and the exhaust cleaned up and she got some power back. First thing on the list is getting all the routine maintenance done and making sure everything is in tip top shape!
