Just get some autochains so you simply just engage them when you need them and they are retracted up when not. You can use any tire chain on the roads in NH during snow and ice when safety calls for it.

Well, you are correct. For some reason years ago I was going to get some chains and I didn’t because I thought the law had changed… huh. So what kind of chains you got there?

how much ground clearance you loose when the unit is installed? might be interested
They sit up above or even with the axles. You can adjust for a longer stroke for taller tires etc

My understanding is that automatic tire chains are useful on regular roads while traveling at speed. Not sure how well they would perform off-road, on driveways, plowing, start/stop/reverse, and other ranch tasks.
