Hybrid question (HMMWV rims)

Did the research and I understand that the HMMWV rims won't fit on the front Dana 60 of the M1008. Or on my K5 which has a Dana 60. However, I have crossover high steering and no need of the tire rod "seats" or 'arms' on the knuckles. Is this where the rub is--literally? If so, couldn't I just whack that off the knuckle and use the HMMWV rims straight away?

You can pretty much use one of three options:

1- Recenter them

2- Run them with 2" spacers to correct for backspacing

3- Put dually hubs on the front. Accomplishes the same thing, just doesn't use spacers

All 3 options are pretty easy. I'd just recenter them though, it doens't require any changed to the truck, you can run them on another truck with no mods, and they're very easy to sell if you ever need to get rid of them.
