Hi!
I have a skytrak m6000 that needs transmission and hydraulic fluids, but do not have a manual so unsure what to use.
.
Any chance you can see the data plate with the military numbers on it? Might make it easier to pull the Technical Manuals.

Otherwise, the JLG version of that vehicle uses regular hydraulic oil for the boom.

Looking for the types of oils and quantities for the engine, transmission and hydraulics. I have the serial number and date of manufacture of the vehicle. Where can I go to get this info? (this is my first military vehicle).

Mullaney is trying to point you in that direction. Look at the data plate and find the TM number so its a tad easier to find it.

Hello, old thread but for me still actuall, because I have the plate on my vehicle, can read the manual, but I do not understand what they advise. Could anybody tell a german what "...Use MIL-L-2104D hydraulic transmission fluid..." means? ..2104D is only a engine oil spezification ? Table 3 in the manual is also not helpful: 1758185557679.png
Or was the skytrak in the early 90s so far, that they start with the S.T.O.U. concept ( one oil for all )

.
MIL-L-2104D is an obsolete military specification for heavy-duty engine oil, with modern equivalents often found in the API CH-4 and API CI-4 service categories for diesel engines, with Shell Rotella T1 and Shell Rotella T Triple Protection SAE 15W-40 being examples that meet these performance levels.

thank you for your fast response, but did I really have to use this oil for the transmission and hydraulik? Is that what the manual says?
.
That is what the manual says - BUT - the best thing to do is check your fluid levels. It the transmission has red in it, chances are that somebody has changed it to Dextron. The military used the same fluid in everything to make it easier to maintain. If your hydraulic fluid seems "more slippery or thinner", it may have been replaced with 10wt regular hydraulic fluid...
