I would say we pick it up give it a front axle to rear axle check over fluid wise and lights brakes and so on and as long as all that checks out I would say you could drive it from indy to where ever you run out of diesel. Most of the truck are usually in great shape a few need miner work to be 95% to 100% road ready. What the chance of me driving one from Indy to Dayton? I saw Indy allows drive off base.... What woul dbe needed?
Not really Cause its no longer on base its at gl's privet lot called the truck center.Indy4x4fab... Thanks for the info. Sounds like your very familiar with the Indy site.. anything special I would need to drive it off-base?
Any way I can be of help let me know, I live 15 mins from there and can swing by pick it up, pm it for you pick you up at the airport and turn you loose on your way home.Ok cool... even better. I'm looking at several different 923 and 925's in the current offerings. Hoping to snag one at a decent price. I'm comfee inspecting for the road trip. I've got a lot of experience with big diesel trucks.. I used to be an ABF in the Navy operating 5,000 and 10,000 gal refulers... so I'm used to performing PM check items..... just a newbie at the 5-ton/duece trucks.
I appreciate the info!![]()
Screw burning fuel in two trucks I have tow bar / shackle mounts for hummv's that bolt in to the front tow hook mounts on the chevy trucks that will allow you to tow bar your chevy home, that m923 will never feel it back there.I live in Dayton, so it's a quick trip over there in my 3500 Silverado... I'd feel better having some tools, fluids, jack, straps, and chase vehicle just in case.
But I very much appreciate the offer! With being a newbie at these type of trucks, It's nice to know there is backup close by just in case! lol

I'm always willing to tag along and give my 2 cents, My out look is the more people I help out the more people I'll know that maybe able to help me out in the future as things come up.I saw where you live close by the lot, I will be looking to purchase my first MV hopefully in the early spring. If things work out that way would you be willing to maybe come along and help me look some over to see if one would be worth purchasing? I live in Grant County only about an hour north of Indy right off of I-69.
